Flugantaj melodioj

Release of the digital album on 13 july 2018

With BaRok-Projekto, Rafael Milhomem has already released two albums in Esperanto. The artist now presents us with a musical concept totally different from the heavy atmosphere of a metal band. Flugantaj Melodioj is a gorgeous instrumental album with classical melodies that fly us through the sonorous waves. It contains new totally fresh titles as well as unofficially released titles remasterized from the independent album Emanações Harmônicas (2015).

Ritaro de l’ animo (ritual of the soul) is highly mysterious and impressive.

Al unu Rozo (to one Rose) is a lovely track composed for guitar and recorder. It is dedicated to Rosana, Rafael’s wife.

Fugo al Baĥo (a fugue to Bach) was composed for a classical guitar duo. It is dedicated to the German master Johann Sebastian Bach. The fugue is a type of composition in counterpoint for several independant musical voices. This track is divided into two parts: Prelude and Fugue.

Paca valso (peaceful waltz) is dedicated to Maria da Paz, Rafael’s mother. In Portuguese, paz means “peace”.

Knabeto is a child-like and sad piece of music dedicated to the “angel” Rafael Filho, Milhomem’s son, in memoriam.

The five Miniaturoj have a beautiful and emotional sound. An interesting fact is that several melodies appear in almost all the miniatures, always with some change. It is a pleasure for the listeners when they notice this.

The four Studoj por Kavakinjo are wonderful because it is not usual to play polyphony with this musical instrument, and Milhomem shows that the cavaquinho is perfectly suited for polyphony.

Memoroj... were recorded by the guitar trio El Ligno Trio in 2006. On these tracks, Milhomem uses the same musical theme for the three musical parts, but the melody sounds different in each part.

In this album, Milhomem played almost every instrument, but he counted on the important support of the guest musicians: João Fernandes (acoustic guitar) and João Batista Albernaz (acoustic guitar) in the titles “Memoroj...”; and Roberto Segantini (acoustic guitar) in the title “Al unu Rozo”.
