Je la kvara

Release of the digital EP Je la kvara on 30 September 2025 

After sixteen years, Kaj Tiel Plu returns with new versions and with the same passion. Thus, the Catalan band presents fresh work: Je la kvara. This new online EP offers a journey through peoples, languages and histories, all connected by the international language Esperanto. 

In it you will find seven songs: instrumental dances from Brittany, folk melodies from Macedonia and Greece, Sephardic tradition and from Catalonia, not forgetting songs of resistance during the Spanish Civil War.

As usual, our goal is to revive the musical heritage of Catalonia, Occitania and other cultures around the world, to reinterpret and disseminate it in Esperanto – a language that allows this wealth to be shared worldwide.

Je la kvara is a new invitation to dance, listen and dream, with our own arrangements that continue the spirit of the group: to unite the roots of different peoples and make them flourish with a common language.

The seven songs on the album are:
1. Skotiŝo de la Stokfiŝo (Scottish du Stockfish): Brittany
2. Radikoj (Arrels): Joan Crosas, Esquirols, Catalonia.
3. Lulkanto (Νανούρισμα): Traditional Greek.
4. Je l’ unua la naskiĝ’ (A la una yo nascí): Traditional Sephardic.
5. Soldatkanto (Canción de soldados): Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio.
6. Kiel estas tiu glaso (Како што е таа чаша): Traditional Macedonian.
7. Aj, Karmela! (¡Ay, Carmela!): Traditional resistance song of the Spanish Civil War.
