Kaj Tiel Plu was born as a duo by Pep Tordera and Xavier Rodon in 1986 in Castello (Veneto, Italy) with the aim of bringing the Catalan musical tradition to the Esperanto public.
Josep Maria Milla and Carles Vela soon joined the band. At that time, various concerts took place in Italy, Hungary, Catalonia, the Netherlands, France, Occitania,  the Basque Country..., and for the first time a female voice joined: Núria Oller.

In 1989, the group published Fajreroj. Unua kataluna kantareto.

In 1992, due to Pep’s emigration to the United States, the group became less active.

Kaj Tiel Plu was revived in 1998 on the occasion of the Universal Esperanto Congress in the city of Montpellier in Occitania (southern France). Núria, for family reasons, was replaced by Luz Vázquez, and Ferriol Macip, Javier Muñoz, Antonio Alberca, Pau de Nut also joined the band, and later Elena Milla, Carles Badia, Anna Sánchez, Isaac Barrera and Àngel Ribas.

Then the resulting composition (guitar, mandolin, flutes, violin, double bass, percussion and vocals) became apparent, and the repertoire expanded to the Occitan tradition from the troubadours to the present day, and to the Judeo-Spanish tradition.

The current line-up of the band is:
Anna Sánchez: percussion
Carles Vela: flutes and vocals
Elena Milla: percussion and vocals
Ferriol Macip: violin and vocals
Isaac Barrera: double bass
Josep Maria Milla: mandolin, flutes and vocals
Xavier Rodon: guitar and vocals.

The folk band offers concerts and balls with music from around the world.

To date, they have released four albums on the Vinilkosmo label:
Sojle de la klara temp’ (2001), Plaĉas al mi (2004), Surplacen venu vi (2009) et Je la kvara (2025).
