Okcitanio

CD release on November 27, 2012

In the Universal Esperanto Congress in Montpellier in 1998, Patric attracted the Esperantist public, and he repeated that in the French National Congress in Sète in 2011.
After that congress, the idea was born to make an album in Esperanto using Patric’s songs that had been translated into Esperanto by André Andrieu, adapted by Ludmila Novikova, and published in Russia in a brochure with the title Okcitanaj kantoj en esperanto (Occitanian songs in Esperanto).

The album Okcitanio is a collection of songs interpreted by Patric appearing in his albums in Occitanian, with fifteen titles originating from the popular Occitanian repertory and original his compositions.

This project was lead under the artistic direction of Jean-Marc Leclercq (JoMo).
The choruses were recorded by a group of Esperantists from Toulouse and Ariège.
Among the chosen songs we find “Se canta” ("Ĝi kantas" / It sings), an old Occitanian favorite, and “Kastelorizo”, dedicated to his late grandmother who was Greek from the little island of Kastellórizo.

The album is an invitation to travel in Occitania, beginning in the "Suda stacio" (Southern Railway Station) where you can hear the Meditarranean languages (Italian, Spanish, Occitanian) in the refrains.

Fifteen songs that mix the traditional music, personal sentiments, colors, sonorities, and atmosphere of Occitania.
